ABSTRACT
|
An experiment about a group of strangers trapped in
a sinking ship. Air-tight divisions prevent catastrophe, but they
can also be trapped.
My idea came directly from the sinking of the Russian
sub the Kursc---I had been thinking of it for a year or so and
feel strongly about the nature and the expression of the project.
It was a powerful experience because I believe that Bulkhead really
represents what we want to do with our projects on a local level.
I am convinced that improv has a specific place in movie making
and it allows for a whole new expression of artist (actor) to be
involved in a way that is not often done...and it should NOT be
confused with REALITY TV.

Production Journal:

"The contract with the Estonia was our big break.
We even worked up a new, modern dance for the occasion. But, it
ended up being our first and last performance. The show was well-received
and ended to enthusiastic applause just after midnight.
