Justin Eldreth Carrboro NC 27510 Re: Golfers Beware! 1/16/2002 Dear Justin: We did not select your film for screening at this year's SXSW Film Festival. This year, SXSW Film received over 2,000 submissions, and the overall quality was higher than ever. Unfortunately this means that we must turn down many worthy films. Please be assured that your "film", Golfers Beware! was given full consideration. In fact, as a result of viewing it, we are now in the process of amending our entry rules and regulations to exclude any film involving the humilation and harassment of innocent citizens, especially the elderly. If in any way the allure of our festival has encouraged you to pick up a camera then that is a guilt which will follow us to our graves. Normally, we offer a discounted registration fee and advance notice of events to all filmmakers who submit to our festival. To you, we offer a simple warning: Stay away from our festival. In fact, stay away from Austin entirely. The sick content of your "film" and the threatening messages left on the SXSW voicemail were sufficient to get the interest of local law enforcement.
